The global assembly plant database contains production data for nearly 60 vehicle groups, 140 brands and 1,100 models. By Jonathan Storey
The global vehicle assembly plant database is organised by region, country, location, automaker group and brand. The attached data file contains all automaker groups with global light vehicle production in excess of 500,000 upa, as well as many low-volume producers. It also includes the major heavy truck producers.
Factories that assemble kits produced by mother plants are generally noted but there may be exceptions, and several examples also undertake full production of some models. In order to arrive at an automaker’s net production, the kit assembly operations need to be excluded.
Please note that numerous entries may have been added or deleted between editions of the global vehicle assembly plant database. These changes reflect new plants, new brands entering production at existing plants, and plant closures. Also the plant locations refer to the commonly-used descriptions, but they may be termed differently in other sources.
