In China for export: VW considers new global growth plans

On 25 November, Volkswagen announced the completion of major expansion work at its test centre in Hefei, China, which it claims will help reduce vehicle development cycles 30% and cut model costs 50%. This is just as well: VW wants to use the country as a launch pad for more exports, which will likely compete with Chinese OEMs in several global markets, though it is currently ruling out sending any to Europe.
